Governor Kathy Hochul has approved the restriction of banning phones in school classrooms. This is a much needed requirement to be enforced. As Americans of all ages have become addicted to the phone, it has become an integral part of life. There are good and bad aspects of this technology, as is the case with all technology, but it has become a glaring problem in the classroom where our beleaguered teachers who have myriad problems must compete with aspects of pop culture and social media for attention while teaching. As for the teachers, they will accept the ban as long as they, rightfully so, do not also have to police, jury and jailer concerning any student violations. I couldn’t agree more!
